The Burlington housing market is perilous to say the least, we created BVTenants to help make it just a little less perilous by providing transparency, educating to promote advocacy, and encouraging cooperation between landlords and tenants. (Special thanks to Jenna Pacitto for coming up with the awesome name!) The fabulously talented Tylor Mayfield provides help with the technical side of things, and this site would not have been possible without the amazing support of the Burlington community. We are in the process of building a custom site, In the mean time, please bear with us as we work out the kinks.

This is what we are aiming to accomplish:

+Provide a forum for transparency where people can review their landlord anonymously (and respectfully!) and share their renting advice.

+Bridge the gap between the young renting population, and the resources available to them. In other words, educating renters so that they may advocate for themselves by providing links local renting resources.

+Remember! Reviews must be both respectful and honest, this isn’t a forum for slander.

We are open to suggestions and comments so feel free to contact us.

  1. I clicked on COMMENTS in the right sidebar and got this:
This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

    etc etc….

I got the same results on an Acer 720 Chromebook and Windows 7 laptop.

I’m looking forward to reading the comments – hope this is fixed soon

I also got that when I tried, The comments appear under the reviews, I’m not sure why we have that link on the sidebar. I will look into it. let me know if you have any other issues.

  2. I wanted to leave a review so i registered and it keeps telling me to log in, then brings me to the wordpress website to log in, then back to your login.

Hey I’m sorry about that, I have actually experienced the same thing at times. I am looking into it with my partner. In the mean time, If you want to send me your review, I can post it for you, or you could just wait until we have worked out the bug. Thank you for your patience! And thank you for joining the movement.

    Hello!
I love this idea for a site, and I have something that I feel is quite important to post, ASAP! Unfortunately, I haven’t found how to actually post a review, and if the layout of a site doesn’t make it so obvious that I can find the correct button within just a couple minutes, I usually lose interest. I’m not completely computer-illiterate, so I have a feeling I’m not the only one who may come across this problem. Perhaps it’s a browser issue? But Google Chrome is pretty widely used. I also feel like people looking FOR reviews won’t find them super easy, because when you press “reviews” you’re greeted with a list of people who have registered. (I know you can change it to see reviews, but again, some people may not get that far before giving up.)
I also feel like a “Contact Us” section would be useful, because it also wasn’t immediately obvious where I could send an email if I wanted to. Aaand lastly, I’m also having trouble with the site logging me out when I switch tabs.
Like I said: love the idea! And I hope it becomes really successful, especially after my recent & horrible experience, but I think you could use some website reformatting.
    Thanks for reading!

There are basically 3 large landlords in the Burlington area. Handy’s, Bissonette, and Hinsdale Properties. I am very curious how they relate/compete or just comments from tenants having any experiences they would like to share.

Is there a way to search for landlord reviews?
